The major challenge confronting CCHR in its mission has been to make accurate information about psychiatry—and its abuses within the field of mental health—broadly available to everyone.

Consequently, CCHR International has embarked on its largest-ever public awareness campaign. In late 2004, CCHR released a new series of 20 educational booklets and 20 informational pamphlets, each presenting facts about a different aspect of psychiatry and evidence of its continuing abuses in society. In 15 languages, these publications examine such topics as psychiatry’s medical fraud, false diagnoses, brutal treatments, patient rape, deadly restraints, child drugging and the ramifications of its destructive influence on society.

As part of its international public education campaign, in July of 2003, CCHR created a series of portable exhibitions presenting information on psychiatric crime, fraud and abuse. Based on the permanent exhibition at CCHR International’s headquarters in Los Angeles, fourteen of these travelling exhibits have been created in 10 languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Hungarian, Dutch, Danish, Russian and Japanese. To date, these exhibits have visited cities in Austria, Denmark, France, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Switzerland and the UK, as well as Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Mexico, the US, Japan, Canada and South Africa. In all, CCHR has toured more than 316,700 people in 172 cities in 17 countries.
